I love that Michael Stone refers to yoga as being intimate with yourself: with your body – recognizing the subtle shifts and changes, with your emotions – as they come and go, come and go, come and go, until we see that emotions come and go – and we can loosen our attachments to our emotions, letting them be these comings and goings and not being surprised by them, or affected unnecessarily. And being intimate with our minds, and watching our minds change, change, change, change, while trying to hold, hold, hold, hold onto some things that are changing,changing, changing…
