I am a certified Hatha yoga teacher having graduated under the direction of Alex Bovkis. I am currently enrolled in the advanced teacher training program.
I first discovered yoga in 1990 while living in Toronto. What began as an excuse for a night out with the girls, led me to my first yoga instructor – an 82 year old Scottish grandmother. Her image was closer to that of ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ than any preconceived notion I had of what a yoga teacher ‘should’ look like. The benefits I experienced were almost instantaneous and certainly undeniable. I was soon hooked and yoga has been an integral part of my life ever since.
My yoga practice has supported me through the stress of major life events, aided the rehabilitation of a nagging back injury and improved all of my relationships – especially that with myself.
I am committed to a lifetime of learning and I recognize that my students are my most valuable teachers.
I am excited to share my knowledge and passion for yoga in a safe, supportive and light atmosphere. My classes are adapted to the needs of my students and are often themed. I draw inspiration from anatomy, yoga philosophy, the chakras, pranayama and even current events.
